Novonappa - Famous for its smooth texture and colour this French calfskin is the signature product from Haas. It is a close cousin to Baranil, with slightly firmer surface and deeper initial colour. This leather has mild scratch and water resistance with excellent recovery. Great all round with luxurious hand and soft temper.
Baranil - Highly regarded among enthusiast, this leather has a smooth matte surface with a light bloom (wax) when fresh. The temper is soft with a gentle hand (bounce). A close cousin to Novonappa (Haas), this leather has a slightly smoother surface compared to the latter. It has mild scratch and water resistance and deepens its original colour as it patinas.
Suportlo - An oilier version of the Baranil with a slightly firmer surface and temper. Traditionally used for shoes and belts, this leather is more rugged compared to its close cousin.
Tannery: Novonappa (Haas), Baranil & Suportlo (Degermann S.A.).
Temper: Soft temper with light hand (bouncy surface). Suportlo is slightly firmer compared to the others.
Surface: Light bloom (wax) when fresh, very fine texture with a smooth matte surface.
Tanning: Double tanned, restuffed with oils.
Patina: Deepens colour over time while developing a light sheen.
Other notes: Excellent recovery against light marks.
